Name : Tabgaali

Cooperative "Tabgaali" in Lentekhi district, in difficult climatic and road conditions,  is trying to introduce traditional and natural dry fruits, fruits, Berries and medicinal herbs from the alpine zone. production to local population. "Tabgaali" means small table and also the name of one of the pear. This sort of pear  is planted in the nursery farm on the 8500-meter area belonging to the cooperative. Therefore, the cooperative was called "Tabgaali". Cooperative owns the nursery farms and producing dry fruits. "Winter is here for almost nine months, so dry fruit is more useful, it's the oldest technology and we all know him." This is a small list of the plants and fruits that Tabagal will acquire in the highlands of Svaneti: barambo,Cerasus, Rosa,Crataegus,Cydonia...

Farmers living in high mountainous regions have to work hard in difficult conditions. Strict climate in Lentekhi - frequent weather determines agricultural activities. "It's been three months here in fact summer, one of them is raining" . It is difficult to move in the mountains. Despite the long experience, the "Tabgaali"  needed support to continue their work and expand their production, and therefore they participated in the Cooperative Development Program.

"Tabgaali" bought a car through the grant component of the project  for transportation  of the plants and products. The car make their job  easy. With the co-operation of the cooperative members , the building was renovated in which the drying device is located. The cooperative has received a drier  device from the project. Thare is high demand for  "Tabagal" natural products , so the cooperative began to take care of his business. Through various training, the cooperative acquainted with the new technologies in the production of dry fruit and added traditional methods to modern methods.

“Tabgaali” has many interesting plans in the future. It wants to expand the nursery and get more farmers involved in berry production. Also it wants to develop an agro-tourism direction, which is fully supported by environmental conditions.
