"Soplis Imedi " is a great hope for the village Ushapati in Samegrelo, because the nut cooperative create jobs for the rural population. During the 9 months, 50 local residents work in cooperative. That is why it is very important to develop cooperative "Soplis Imedi". The hazelnut processing factory which is functioning and has a social workload,only one in this and neighbor villages. Besides the fact that people are employed, people with special needs also work in cooperative .
"Soplis Imedi" was established in 2007 and was initially a small processing enterprise. Cooperative is registered in 2014. As a result of the project implemented by CARE, "Soplis Imedi" purchased four equipment for hazelnut, which is very important for the enterprise in the conditions of high humidity climate of Samegrelo. Prior to that, the cooperative was dripping in natural conditions, which resulted in a deterioration of crop quality.
Gradually the "Soplis Imedi" has been strengthened . There are many who want to join the cooperative, and the cooperative is going to expand gradually.
"Soplis Imedi" wants to export its products directly to the European market and seeks investors and interested people through the project.
