New seasonal activities of Tsageri Municipality Beekeeping Agricultural Cooperatives during the Pandemic

Agricultural cooperatives working in the beekeeping sector, as well as Georgia and the whole world, have to operate in a particularly unusual situation due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.

Currently, members of the cooperative "Soplis Nobati" are taking into account the recommendations and instructions for the prevention of the virus, refrain from working together and do their seasonal activities by keeping distance from each other. This year, the nomadism in other regions has been temporarily postponed, preparation works are going on to take care of local bees to produce quality honey.

The cooperative and its members have systematic contact with the Tsageri Information-Consultation Center of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency and receive the necessary advice and guidance.  The cooperative also has support from the Cooperative Fund, which provides them with the necessary material and technical support.

The cooperative "Mtis Nobati" shares its experience with local beekeeping cooperatives and individual beekeepers. Due to the spread of COVID-19, the members of the cooperative expressed a desire to help the population by collecting honey and handing it over to the local government for those who need it most. Other members of the Cooperative Fund: "Madliani Takveri" and "Utskeri" also liked this idea and joined the cooperative “Mtis Nobati” in contributing for the population.

Hopefully all of us together, with each other’s support, by following the recommendations and instructions, will soon defeat this invisible enemy.
